Courses also comply with the Health & Safety Executives Guidance HSG6 & Approved Code of Practice L117 (Link to HSE Website) and in following both the guidance and code of practice you can be assured that the training is sufficient to comply with the law.

Course (depending on type) includes:

  • Information on Statutory Legal requirements & associated regulations, including operators’ responsibilities to themselves & others.

On successful completion each candidate will receive a Certificate & Photo ID card which can be produced by Safe-T-Solutions at no extra charge, or can be produced by the relevant accrediting body and entered onto their national database (where  your audit trail may require this option) at an additional cost of £19.50 + Vat per candidate.

Novice Training (Where there has been little or no experience or no proof).

Duration of course is dependant on number of candidates and category of plant on which training is to be given. Candidates are required to undertake basic training in line with the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice (L117) (Link to relevant extract of code of practice)

Experienced Operator training. (Where there is claimed experience from the operator)

We can arrange short assessment courses to judge the ability & training needs of experienced operators who have had little or no formal training.

On completion of the candidates profile sheet detailing any previous experience and after the initial assessment, the duration of the course can be shortened at the instructors’ discretion.

An Experienced Operator is someone who:

• has 6 months minimum operating experience on the category of plant being applied for, which can be verified by the current or previous employer.

Refresher: (Where evidence of previous formal training exists)

If an initial assessment clearly identifies that the candidate does not require further training, they may undertake refresher & re-test training, which need not be of long duration.

Conversions: (Evidence of certification on another category required)

An operator with basic training on one category of plant or handling attachment cannot safely operate others, for which they have not been trained, without additional, conversion training.

Duration determined by completion of candidates profile sheet and category of plant converting from / to.
