This course is designed for candidates who have the desire to teach others. Progression after the course may be in to full time employment or self employed as an instructor, teaching assistant or assessor among others
Suitable for candidates that:
- wish to enter a teaching or training role
- are already in service who need the minimum threshold status as a teacher or trainer within a further education college, adult and community learning centre, or workbased learning or training provider organization
- are environmental health practitioner and others wishing to register to deliver CIEH vocationally-related qualifications in the publicly-funded sector

Course Objective
- to understand their own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
- to understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area
- to demonstrate their session planning skills - plan, deliver, observe and evaluate a micro-teach session
- to understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
- to understand the use of different assessment methods
- to understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures that can be adopted - including internal and external assessment information

Course Assessment
- One 30 minute micro teach
- Two written assignments
Course Manuals
- Free course manuals are provided on the first day of training
Course Certification
- Successful candidates will receive certification. It will take approximately eight to ten weeks for the centre to receive your results. If you are successful, you will have achieved the minimum standard set by the lifelong learning sector, and the knowledge and skills required, to enable you to enter the teaching, learning and development sector.
