Novice Training

Little or no prior experience of operating materials handling equipment.

Experienced Training

Has at least 3 months experience of operating materials handling equipment with no evidence of HSE recognised formal training. Or, the candidate holds an "in-house only" certificate and wants to be tested and certificated to accredited standards.

Refresher Training

Holds (and has evidence of) a certificate in a piece of equipment and needs refreshing and re-testing. Current/Old certificate must be accredited.

Conversion Training

Already holds an accredited certificate on a lift truck etc and needs training and certification on a different type of truck.

Instructor Training

Designed to help participants understand the principles of forklift truck operation, safety and training. Covers: roles of the instructor, learning methods, principles of instruction, lesson types and plans, training aids along with assessments and reporting, skills testing and ongoing assessment. The candidate must have over 12 months operational experience and hold a current ITSSAR Counterbalance/Reach Truck licence dated within 6 months of joining the instructors course.
